I had a few solar guppy members ask me about the current panels Sun Electric are selling and calling them laminates. Before these panels even we offered publicly, Sun Electric had sent emails and pictures for me to review and it quickly became obvious that these are unfinished solar panels. , better know as WIP, or WORK IN PROGRESS. I'm guessing when Astron power went thru BK, all the factory stock was sold off and Sun Electric, which specializes in seconds and overstock bought this stuff up. What this means is, these are regular panels that require the stiff frame for structural strength, these are NOT the laminates I bought which were "laminated" onto a very stiff fiber backing. In today’s tight market for panels, the dollar/watt value is very good, if you’re willing to making your own frames as this is not optional with these panels. On some panels , there not even wire or junction boxes , just the meta tabs comming out the back. They are all quite usable , but its not plug and play ! http://www.sunelec.com/ |
