Post subject:  Store with renewable energy products

Hi,

I was Googling some prices for Xantrex GT series inverters and so far found the cheapest from here:

http://www.thesolar.biz/Our%20Complete% ... entory.htm

For my reference the Outback MX-60 charger was pretty inexpensive as well... slightly less than what I paid on mine last summer...

In addition they have quite wide range of all kind of stuff... (Just wondering are all in stock???)

Anybody has any experience dealing with them?

Post subject:  Store with good RE product prices

I have known about thesolar.biz for quite a while - they have good pricing on most of their products. I found a comment on Otherpower.com from a person who bought Outback equipment from thesolar.biz and was pleased with their knowledge and advice, as well as their price (view it at http://www.fieldlines.com/comments/2006 ... 437/5303/4). If you purchase from them, let us know your opinion! [www.ohiowinds.com]

Most mom&pop internet retailers carry no stock, they just have their distributor drop ship the product and they get there commission.

Unless your a VERY large shop, it work this way. now places like winsun and the like have the volume to carry the stock and cover the overhead.

This is how allot of internet business is run, that's why there is lower prices as there is little overhead, web site can be run for under 100 bucks month ( commerical type ) and business VOIP for 50 bucks and your in "business". The brick and Morter folk hate them, the ditributors don't really care how stuff is sold, they just need to move as much product as possible so there not stuck with to much stagnet inventory

Solar is no different than other stuff, this is just business 101.

Good to hear some positive feedback.

When you placed orders with them, how long did you have to wait your stuff to arrive? Were they shipped from SolarBiz or directly from manufacturer? (It doesn't really matter at the end, but would indicate if they carry stock or if they are just the middleman/clerk taking orders...)

How about the shipping charges in general? Reasonable?

Generally I received my products within 7-10 days. Shipping was actual cost. Three of us got together and purchased panels and saved a bunch on shipping. Some products came from solar biz others from different distributors. Bottom line, prices are hard to beat.
