Hi Andy, No you need a real serial port. If your only monitoring a single GT3.0 any usb to serial converter should work. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812156003 They are very inexpensive, they above link showes its 8.00 plus shipping

If I use this USB/rs232 adapter, do I still need a optpisolator? Thanks, Chuck Alldrin |

Since your also posting about Suntie/FishBowl questions, YES , the Suntie is not isolated RS232, the GT series is and can use this generic USB to RS232 adapter. For FishBowl/Suntie, you MUST use an opto isolator, or you will trash you PC and possibly the inverter. |

Is it possible to connect the GT inverter via RS232 (DB-9) connector directly to a dedicated modem??? I would like to have remote access to the data using Grid View. Please advise...Thanks. |
