Hi,
Today I received my B&B Electronics Optical Isolator and just finished up the wiring to the computer.. Installed the FishBowl software and guess what happened... the sun set before I could test it #$#^&^&**%^$@.
Oh well, they say that the sun will rise again tomorrow Wink
I will report what happens then.

Well ,after much hair pulling I got the program to work :-) ;-)
My major problem was the serial port on my old computer was not working. I have no idea why it won't read the data from the "opto" .

When I tried using a USB to serial adapter cable, it worked fine.
I then tried a 2nd computer that had serial port, hooked it up and "WOW" it worked on it as well.
So now I'm wondering how to get the 1st computer's serial port to work.

Any ideas.....

BTW: when checking out the serial port on XP devices, it shows that port is installed and working ;-(

For logging more than one inverter, I recommend the Edgeport brand of USB to serial devices. These are enterprise class converters and are rock solid. I use a single computer and monitor 3 inverters

I get them on ebay, pay 20-40 dollars for an Edgeport 4 port unit
