Post subject:  Bug in GT-View timing of log to disk?

I'm running Gt-View 1.60 (downloaded a couple of days ago from the xantrex site) on a new GT3.0. It is set to refresh the screen disply every 4 seconds, and to write to the hard drive every 120 seconds. Instead it is writing to the drive every 110 seconds.

It's running on a Dell Optiplex GX270; nothing else running but PC-cillin, with 2.8 GHz CPU and 1 GB Ram, Win XP SP2 with all updates.

The PC clock is set to the correct time and keeps it.

Log file for the day showing this problem is attached. I have tried resetting the "120" seconds in the setup window, and that does not effect it's behavior.

Hi John,

please download the most recent build of GT-View,

There were timing issues with the older builds, as documented in the above thread. Download the 1.9 file.

Are you now Suntieless?

Mike gave me a great idea, to prevent the laptops harddrive from running all the time and keeping the laptop cooler, you can insert a 4gig USB flash card and then reroute the log files into it. Works great, just make sure you pull the flash card after a while and upload the files into your house PC to empty out the flash card.

If you set up your laptop as shared and part of your home network, you can view these files from the flash card from inside the house on your PC.

Good Luck.

Fred
