I wasn't able to spot it last night, or this AM, but does SGview display the "connecting in 268 seconds" countdown, and the "Disconnected" that GTView did ? Is it an option I didn't find, or did I just not catch it at FTP times?

On the inverter side, are the serial connectors still on the inverters, or is their deletion an "improvement" to sell the gateway monitor?

Thanks !

:D

SG-View has the reconnect timer pop-up, functionally, SG-View does everything GT-View did. The additions are the new skins, menus and the debug feature for manually sending/receiving commands to the inverter

Last month I swapped out a pair of Sunties UPG's for GT2.5's at my old house and they had serial ports ... but I'm not sure what Xantrex current or furture plans are for the inverter

Well, one I see, is the "ONLINE" text does not appear.

It's implied by the fact it's outputting power, but not stated anymore. I haven't seen the other status messages (which are only there briefly) Do I have an old version that was beta ?

Its never done to Mike says its done  , I corrected the online feature and a new file is available.

Download again, and to make sure you have the current file , right-click -> properties -> Version -> File Version should be 1.0.0.3

I just like all the little gadgets !

Thank You SG

I had to throttle myself back at the beta test at the Xantrax forum - my keyboard was getting soft and melty. The have enough other input to keep them busy.

You would not believe what I put test equipment reps through here at work. If they call out a spec, I test it, and call them on it, most of the time, their gear is so far off they can't believe it themselves.

I appreciate SG's efforts to share this monitoring solution, and the work to get it "just right".

I'm actually the same way Mike ...

No matter how much I test though, no single person can make something bug free and I have always appreciated your time and input.

I don't know if this is specific to the time of day, but I just downloaded the SG-View Beta 1 and successfully migrated from GT-View for my two SPR-4000 inverters.

I really like the new skins and the debug/command window. :P

I am having a strange problem when I update settings. The update appears to save nicely but the application crashes with the error "8: is not a valild input" regardless of what I have changed.

So, I opened the SG-view.ini file and looked for something that started with an 8. I had entered the time for the daily totals update as 20:36 but in the ini file the entry was listed as 8:36:12 PM. So, I edited the .INI file to say 20:36 again and it worked nicely.

But, I cannot use the settings dialog box. If I ever open up the settings, and change something (say the LCD text field) the time changes back to 8:36 pm (not military time) and the pop-up window with the error message comes back, and the application crashes. :o

So for now, I am running fine, and I don't use the settings dialog window.

nice going with the fix henry as you're really on top of things when you find out about it. :)

kb4ffe,
i find reading your post to be interesting to me as you are 1 a ham as i am and 2 you are using a sunpower configuration. i don't get to hear too much on these systems and if you'd care to elaborate on it i would like to hear. i don't know if solar guppy would object to it here as it would not follow the subject matter, but you could either create another post or just pm the info to me if he says no. that is without question a large system you have going for you as it's nearly 8kw.
