If I add a PCI card with a Db9 port to my computer, and set it as Comm 2 can I run two versions of SGT-View to monitor each one of my Xantrex inverters. They're wired up with independent lines into my house.
Also, I do not get the temperature displayed on my screen even though it is checked off in settings. Any ideas.
Everything else seems to be working. Logs, total daily, screen messages. I'm quite pleased.

You can run multi images, I recommend a product called edgeport. Its a professional USB to RS232 unit. They come in 2/4/8 port versions.

The only thing on the PC that is needed is that every running copy of SG-View needs to be run in its own folder as the .ini settings are keep there. I have reports of folks monitoring 7 units with 7 running images without issue

On the temperature, first I heard of that ... does selecting C or F in the setting make any difference?

Okay, so I connect my two dedicated Db9 plugs to the Edgeport, and run one USB cord to my computer.
Can I just open the program twice.
I will be able to figure out the ".ini" folder bit, but I'm a little slower with the computer directory stuff. How do I make my "own folder" for the second image.
I've also switched over heavily to Apple so the Windows stuff is fading.

Could I just get a USB to Serial adapter and use it along with the serial port on my laptop. They are a lot cheaper. $6 or $7 bucks as opposed $50 to $80.

As for the temp, there is a check box in settings for Celsius, and no other choices. I've had the box checked, so I'll uncheck it and see what I get.
