Post subject:  Xantrex: Accuracy of data from the STXRUPG?

Hello all,

What kind of accuracy should I expect from the data stream from the inverter? The AC power seems better than 1% but the DC voltage and DC current seems much more inaccurate. It may be causing the efficiency calculated by Fishbowl to be unexpectedly high between 50W and 300W. I see 99.9% way too often.

Thanks,

Ron

DC is about 1% as well ...

Things to keep in mind are

1) DC values are not rms , but sampled every 1/60th of second , at higer power levels the 120hz ripple causes DC values to be a little low when compared to rms (or averaged) from a dvm

2) The AC and DC values are not in sync ... they will be off due to the internal storage caps and in changing conditions you can get swings either way that effect the effientcy reported
