I previously contacted Xantrex about the automatic generator start function not operating correctly on my 4048 inverter with software version 5.0. The only time the inverter would start the generator is if the low voltage point was reached. The 24 hour, 2 hour and 15 minute function did not work. The generator excerise function did not operate either.

Xantrex sent me updated software chips. These were installed and now the excerise function now works but the voltage cut in settings still only work when it reaches the low voltage cut in.

I have gone through the manual numerous times, reset the system from cold starts and still nothing I have tried works.

Can you give me some ideas of what is possible wrong? Thank you.

I have a dual SW4024 set up and I have not really tested the 24 hour, 2 hour, and 15 minute functions. The owner lives about 2 hours away so I program the settings and hope it works. The system has been running great since 1999. This year I did change some of the settings and the next day the system came up with an error light because I had raised the charge voltage a few tenths of a volt, about .3 o .4 volts to allow for some loss I measured across some connections and the error was because the charger was not able to reach the new peak voltage within the given amount of run time I had in the program. I dropped off the .3 volts and it seems to be running fine now. I will have to test the 24, 2 hour and 15 minute start settings to be sure they are really working. arcandspark
