I have been a marine elctronics Tech for many years. On a boat the Ham radio and AM are the key to e-mail, voice, and many other devices. Interference from the inverters and charge controllers are often dealt with by turning them off. Any advice on the new sign wave inverters would be appreciated. I would like to buy an inverter and charge controller that I can leave on all the time. |

Hi, Unfortunatly, there is very little info comparing different inverters for EMI. The very best inverter that I have ever seen as far as radiated RF was an old inverter with germanium transistors with a crappy output waveform and poor efficiency. Wireing makes a lot of difference in how much an inverter will interfere with receivers. Keep the battery cables short ant twist them togeather if possable. Running the AC output thru a Corcom or similar filter will help. |
