Anyone heard about this charge controller? A supplier I was working with mentioned that I should look at this product if I was looking at MPPT, but I see no mention of it on the Morningstar product site. I only found one mention of it on the web and it seemed to be a 'coming soon' thing but I couldn't even find out how old that information was.

I checked around, this is what Morningstar has for a response

"The SunSaver Mppt it is in beta testing now and due out to the market in March."

They also provided the attached pdf preliminary spec sheet which can be viewed here http://solar-guppy.com/downloads/SS-MPPT_data_sheet.pdf

Thanks so much Solar Guppy! This is exactly the information I was trying to find. Thanks for going above and beyond to find it! :D

I mounted my new SunSaver MPPT in the tool shed of my remote cabin last Sunday. This afternoon I will visit my cabin again and check the charge state. I also have with me the PC interface "dongle" that Morningstar kindly sent me free of charge.

Here are a few pictures:

Thanks for looking!

Ole

The bug is removed now (see below)! I also cleaned up the cabling a bit and added two fuses. Unfortunately I could not test the PC interface because I brought with me a standard network cable but the Morningstar dongle needed a cable with a smaller (telephone type) connector.
