Hi All,
I am not sure which section to post this in but since one of the key items is a MX-60 I thought I would post here.
A friend of mine left 2 days ago on a journey to go all the way around Long Island NY in a solar powered boat. The boat is 24 feet long and has 6 125W panels as an awning on top to charge a 60 volt battery bank of golf cart batteries. The MX-60 charge controller provides a substantial boost in currentto the batteries. Late this hot and hazy afternoon, the array was putting out 4 amps at 91 volts and the MX-60 turned that into 6 amps at 63 volts into the battery.
We had tremendous problems with spikes from the motor controller but after some filtering, the boat is running like a dream. Over 6.5Kts top speed and 3 to 4 Kts cruise.
