Post subject: Fusing of solar panels in parallel
PostPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2005 8:58 am GMT EthGMT
I am installing a grid-tie battery-less system.

I have:
(14) BP MST45 panels.
Vmp 75v
Imp .6A
Voc 101v
Isc .78A

Suntie 2500XRUPG

My question is regarding the series fusing of putting all 14 panels in parallel.
I know I should purchase a PV combiner to do the job, but I am looking to save alittle bit of money to make the budget for this project work out...

My question is ... in order to meet code do I have to have a fuse for each panel?
If so instead of using a PV combiner could I put an individual fuse at the postive terminal of each panel and then daisy chain the panels together?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Mike
