Anyone ordered anything from the Alternative Energry Store (altenenergystore.com) or have any feedback on products/services? I was just interested since I was looking to buy some stuff from them but couldn't really find any positive or negative feedback outside of their own site.

For major stuff, panels or inverter chargers I suggest

http://www.beyondoilsolar.com/ , great prices and a very honest and down to earth person doing running the shop.

If they don't have what you want, I'd recommend http://www.solar-electric.com/, they seem to be an honest and well run place.

I have no experiance with Alternative Energry Store and have never heard of anyone buying from them to give feedback on way or another

What city/town are you located in Mass?

Sorry though, Don't Miss Mass at all  ... weather is just to damn nice down here

guppy,
what made you go to the particular place you're at out of curiousity? in my younger days i have been to florida many times and i don't like hot temps, but worse yet i can't stand high humidity. my grandparents and a few other relations lived down there. n miami beach, ft lauderdale, naples, and i believe 1 or 2 relations are in and around ocala today. if too long or you don't wish all on the forum then a pm is good.

As far as Alternative Energy Store, I can say so far my experiance with them has been positive. I ordered my Power Fab Racks through them and they came on time and the price was much less than I originally expected. I am also ordering my Xantrex GT 3.3 Positive Ground inverter through them as soo as my Income tax comes in. Very nice sales reps, I talk to Chris Brown at Extension 118 for my purchases and Quotes. 8)

As far as cold weather goes, it hasn't gotten much above 35 degrees F in the past week here in Maine, we have had snow 9 out of the past 14 days, the wind ripped the top 10' off my Fathers ground plane antenna about 60' up and average Low at night has been about 10 degrees, we hit 10 below monday and its only getting colder for the next month or so. And I dont care much for cold weather either. :!:

Thanks Iboc I appreciate the input. It looked like they had a pretty good range of products and were competitive on some things. They have an office (unfortunately not a store) in Hudson MA so I feel like I would be buying somewhat local. :D

I do appreciate other stores to look at though and did find panels cheaper at the beyoundoilsolar site so when it come for buying panels that may be my first stop.

Thanks again everyone.

As far as the cold, I'm originally from Nebraska so New England snow and cold are nothing new. I think I would miss the cold and change of seasons if I didn't live in an area like this. Although after all the rain and snow this year Florida is sounding pretty good right about now especially considering that my solar production has been very low with all the ice and snow on the panels for the last couple months now.
