While I am not a fan of this inverter and it will have no warrenty since advance energy is out of business , this might be a good cheap backup for those of us who use grid-tie and would like power in the case of no grid power (like hurricanes )

Beacon Power now makes a modifed version of this (M5) and they might have support or upgrade options but you should call to make sure
