Thank you for your help with connecting up my laptop computer to the GT3.0 with a serial to USB.
Now that I have strung a serial cable to my main computer in the house I can leave the GT view running all the time ,as my computer stays on all the time. My question is how can I only take a snapshot of the data log each day and record the daily totals at the end of the day. I don't want to acquire 100 pages of data log on a daily basis, but would like to have the daily totals added each night.
I downloaded OpenOffice and have not yet figured out how to make the bell graph yet.
Andy

Hello Andy,

GT-View does two things, it makes daily files and appends to a totals file, which is a single line entree per day. Under the logging options, just have disk recording checked and select the time the totals file is updated (once a day), it defaults to 11:59 pm.

If you don't want large files for the daily logs, just increase the interval to say 500 or something

I have one GTView in a separate folder that I just named Xan and the other GTView in the Xantrex/GTView folder. Not sure what I did but now Im getting both Inverter information on one GT Data Log. How can I change it so that I can get one GT Data Log for each inverter.

Update:
Thanks, I had to select a different folder from the Logging Data Folder Icon. The Logs should go to their proper place now.

Thanks

Fred
