kind off, except it was right at the interrconnection joint and was due to heat of a poor solder joint. Your photo looks like an internal short on the cell causing a similar heat related fault. The manufacture had given me a replacement panel for the defective one, so thats not the issue, I was only responding to the idea of thermal shock breaking the glass

Hi, does anyone wax their panel? like car wax, or maybe rain-x on the glass surface? I get the dust, also some sort of insect crap.. (not bird crap) on the glass. its been raining alot lately, but the dust film still sticks.

For the first year or so after I built my Solar System I would wash the panels every few weeks with dish soap and scrub with a brush. 6 years later, I don't even bother to wash them once a year ... and I haven't applied any wax or coating to the panels.
