Hi Henry. Redwood Alliance's new GT3.0 is installed, inspected, and tested, running on 24 Shell Solar SP130s. I like it a lot, nice and quiet compared to the OutBack battery based system with the same number of modules. We have the GT shut down right now waiting for PG&E to come out and approve the interconnection.

We had to use a Buck & Boost transformer as we found out too late we had a 208 V system. We are looking forward to the 208 V version of the GT so we can get rid of that transformer inefficiency.

Anyway, to my question. I was unable to find the GT-View software on your site. Can you please point me in the right direction?

Hi Michael,

GT-View is a Xantrex product , Yes I wrote it and support it but its owned by Xantrex

http://www.xantrex.com/web/id/172/p/1/pt/2/product.asp

The above link is to the Xantrex GT3.0 page , the link to GT-View is on the upper right hand side of the page , click on the text "GT View Inverter Software"

From what I have read doing the buck transformer is very minimal in loss , when a 208 version is available , I'm sure we can get your unit swapped out

Thanks, Henry.

I figure the transformer is losing between 5 & 10% of my inverter output, probably closer to 5.

But it is also a "load" that is using a little bit of energy even when there is no array output.

I talked to Lloyd, and he agreed to supply a 208 V inverter when they come out.
