Greetings
Now that I can record data to my computer with the USB to Serial cable adaptor you told me about,(thankyou) how do I review and organize the data stored on my computer. It is stored in a file called GT data log 03-25-2006.xls
How do i open and use/manage this data? the Gt-View user Manual does not tell me how to use this data, and my computer does not know what program to open the file with. Is there a simple program to chart and view this information?
Again, thank you in advance for your help

Hi Andy,

I'm not sure about the easy part, but you can make charts, graphs and such using the free open office suite

http://download.openoffice.org/2.0.2/index.html

the .xls is a microsoft excel file type, the file GT view makes is just a tab delimited text file but calls it .xls so It would open correctly with a PC that has microsoft excel installed.

It is well beyond GT-View what ones decided to do with the "data". You are recording to your PC's hard drive on an interval basis all the operational parameters of the inverter. For a simple chart, try charting AC power vs time and you will get a nice bell shaped graphic of your power generation for the day.

Hope this helps!

You can go to download.com and get a copy of 602PC Suite. Works really well.
