Using FishBowl ver1.3 with my Xantrex Suntie XR (not the XR-GP UPG), I get this Fishbowl message in the lower right corner:

"Boost Mode" "Temp Derating". "Temp Dis" and Var Pwr"

Whenver this goes on, the system goes into "Connect In XXX Seconds" mode, and waits for 5 minutes. Then it switches on for about 15 seconds of power generation, and then a monent of "BoostMode/Temp Derating" and then another 5 minutes of wait.

In other words, the SunTie generates about 10 seconds of electricity every 5 minutes.

It is *not* hot here - fishbowl says "ambient 75, heatsink 75 degrees"

This happens on cool, clear days, when it ought to be harvesting sunlight.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sounds like your unit keeps tripping offline, I'd check you AC values to make so your Hz and VAC are withing tolerance and also look at you DC voltage, the unit will trip if the AC get to high/low , frequency is out of tolerance or the DC voltage falls below 40 VDC. Look at the log file, it should have these values when the unit trips

As for the misleading messages, FishBowl was developed for the UPG units, I did almost no testing with the older models and looks like you have found a BUG in Fishbowl that when the reconnect time is active, UPG ONLY messages are being shown, even though your not connected to a UPG unit ... they have no meaning for your unit.

Hopefully, looking at the log will help narrow to trouble shooting ... if AC/DC/HZ are all OK, then your unit will be in need of repair from the Factory
