I have touched on this a little in another post, but would like to clarify.
I am running 1 version of SG View for one inverter using the only serial port on my laptop.
I am getting a Serial to USB cable to hook up my second inverter. I know I have to run a second version of SG View from a different folder, but how do I configure the second SG View to use the USB connection, and log the files to a separate data base file.

Under the setting tab ( cick on a button on the top left of the SG-View window ), select the new comm port, the USB device will show up as just another port

For the log files, select the folder icon and select the folder you want the logs to be written to
