USB is limited to 6ft

Its a simple wire for the RS232, #2,#3,#5 straight thru , that's it. Look at the DB9 connector, it will have the pin numbers on the plastic ( very small )

Success. After purchasing three new Db9 to Cat45 adapters and wiring only the three (black, yellow, red) wires I was up and running.
Unfortunately I bought two of the wrong connectors and I can only monitor one inverter. For now.
Thanks to all who were interested.

hmmm, if the adapters worked then it sounds as if you initially wired the connections wrong somewhere. as long as it works now who cares, right?

I'll say it was the original adaptors that I wired wrong. For some reason I felt if all jacks were wired the same way, and all the Cat45 wires were wired the same it would work.
The Cat45 wires were straight through using the 568-a standard, and i am using them now with success.
I changed out the Db9 to Cat45 adapters and only used the three wires and that corrected the problem. Originally I used all eight pins and just wired them randomly, but each adapter followed the same random pattern.
I'm up and running.
It's all good
