Hello everyone. My system just went online, so I am a new user. I have 4.2kw of Sanyo panels, and a Xantex GT4.0 inverter on my roof.

SG-View never ftp's the data files. It successfully transfers the png files, but not the xls files. When I look at the destination option, in the filename is is listed as "SGTData.xls." But there is no such file, as each file has either the date or "totals" appended to the name.

I hope I'm missing something obvious. It has happened before.

There is the Daily Log file

"GT Data Log 03-24-2008.xls" (mine run about 60K)

and the accumulative total log file
"GT Daily Totals.xls" (grows by a few bytes daily)

Maybe your ISP does not like spaces in the filename ? Maybe try using_an_underscore instead of a space ?

The Daily Log file "GT Data Log 03-24-2008.xls" gets uploaded, but the accumulative total file "GT Daily Totals.xls" does not. I always have ftp'd it manually.

I've found a new "quirk"
Daytime, when powered, the GT's internal LCD display scrolls

Nights, the scrolling stops, and I have to wack the panel to trigger the vibe sensor to scroll the display.

Did anything on the scrolling options change when porting from GT to SG ?

Mike,

Thanks for the response. I think the problem has something to do with the time of day of the upload. I changed the time to do it "now", and it worked as you described. Now I can go find out why...

I have mine set to upload 10:30PM. That covers the late summer nights after the inverter shuts down, if I foul up the computers clock. I think in the summer, my inverter finally shuts off around 8:15, and in the winter, about 4:pm

OK, another "quirk" Today the Max Power field under status was activated [cloud lensing?] and the number in it was 4050 . DCPwrLimit also appeared
( 128 F, 304VDC 13.17ADC 4038WattsIn 94.8% eff)

Does Max power relate to input power, or output power, and if output, why did peak W, not reflect that?

chukstr,
from you, "and a Xantex GT4.0 inverter on my roof"
1 is it really on your roof?
2 if so then why up there and not at a more convenient ground location?

Mike, that all sounds correct, the inverter was DC power limiting and SG-View was reporting the GT's reported max dc power value

The inverter limits only to DC input power, not output AC Watts
