Guppy, friends, Romans, countrymen
.
Seeing as how we have a rather elite group in here, I have a question that could be well answered!
Who trains these folks?
Now, myself, I'm in Canada. Quebec, actually. My background is that I'm a licenced millwright, dual classed maintenance and construction, so "getting into" renewables is no stretch to any of my skill base. Millwrights are cross trained as basic plumbers, electricians, machinists, instrumentation specialists, foundation and support structure specialists, riggers and welders.
Not a bad fit for this industry, I figured!
Now, I've found one company up here, GPEKS (
www.gpeks.com), that is trying to give some formal training in association with the guys at CanSIA, the Canadian Solar Industry Association, who are supported by such agencies as Environment Canada and Natural Resources Canada, so that's a start, but I was wondering who else gives training, GOOD training, and what groups are recognizing it, governmental, insurance, fiduciary, for instance.
And I was thinking, that perhaps our benevolent web host might like to keep a listing somewhere of where we can go for training.
Thanks,
DJ
