I am using GT View 1.8 to download data from the GT 3.0-NA inverter to my PC. I am using an AirCable serial to bluetooth device to connect the inverter wirelessly to the PC (using a usb bluetooth adapter).

Here is the header spec from the dowmload file:
Xantrex Performance Logger Version 1.8 ... © 2006 www.solar-guppy.com

Inverter Infomation
Model = GT3.0-NA-240
Xbus ID = 305600
Serial Number = B11012060

Firware Revisions
Bootloader = 01.00.03
Main = 02.04.00
Xbus = 01.02.04
Protect = 02.01.00

I am getting a bunch of strange data appearing in the download file:
Freq SAC Pwr SAC kWh Status
60 1353 941 ST:3 STS:0000 0000 0002 92fa FA:00

60 ST:3 STS:0000 0000 0002 92fa FA:00
60 ST:3 STS:0000 0000 0002 92fa FA:00

It looks like the following columns are downloading incorrectly:
SAC Pwr; SAC kWh; Status

Does anyone know why this would be?
The data I copied into this post was from the very first time it started logging. You can see that SAC Pwr and SAC kWh worked for a few minutes and then disappeared into the clouds. Ever since I get the ST:3..... for these 3 column headings.

Your displaying system totals for a single unit?

No reason to run that way as unit values are no different.

If you run corded ( direct RS232 ) does the reported data to the log file remain or is it as you have posted ... need to narrow down a bit

They are actually text ASCII files, in a SpaceSeparatedValue (much like CommaSeparatedValue) format, with a .XLS ext. The trick is this forum s/w wraps it, and mangles the spaces.
Scroll down a bit past the this message editor, and there is a box that may be able to be used for attachments, with a browse button.

Now I understand, SAC Pwr and SAC kWh are logging system totals. I only have one inverter. When I first started logging I must have checked System Totals. After a day I unchecked the System Totals. All my downloads from that time do not have the SAC Pwr; SAC kWh columns.

But still have the following error in the status column:
ST:3 STS:0000 0000 0002 92fa FA:00

No I have not, but I will do this to remove the possibility bluetooth is causing a corruption.

Should I upgrade to GT 1.9? I notice you have a fix for a wireless cards (was this specifially for the AirCable?)?

That status is normal ... It has meaning for the engineers as it has detailed status of lots of internal working of the inverter, for everyone else its just a bunch of text.

The Fact you have logs indicates to mean all is working well :D

1.9 is better. just download and overwrite the .exe file

Thanks for the confirmation that all is ok.

But this is still a masking the proper status message? - in other words I will try plugging in directly to the serial port on the inverter with my laptop to see if it returns a normal message?

Also, I do not seem to be able to upload any files to this site. i tried using the dialogue box below in the "post a reply" screen - it lets me select a file, but it does not appear to upload. There is a blank button which I select in that same dialogue box, but it simply clears the box of all file links.

The status is correct, just a bunch of number/characters, there are no plain english messages like FishBowl did. If your unit had functional issues, the log could be looked at by Xantrex Staff and they could use their secret decoder :P

Yes, looks like the attachment feature got broken ... I'm swamped with projects, I'll put fixing it into the circular in bucket :oops:

OK, so that is the correct status error readout.

As it happened I had already I connected my laptop to the inverter via serial and received that same status readout:
