Hello, I am interested in solar energy , and I would like to know which is the best way to protect the DC bus , in both sides from the solar panels and from the battery charger.

Can I use the same AC breaker in DC?

regards-José

The answer to your question is that it depends on your system.

For a small system, simple fuses on both sides of the battery (PV side and battery charger side).

Only a few manufacturers of circuit breakers are rated to work with both AC and DC voltages.

Post some more details of your system and I'm sure you will get more detailed answers!

Many of Square D (QA series) circuit breakers are also rated for DC use.
