I know the company that makes/made the GC-1000 inverter is out of business ...but I have a chance to buy a couple of used ones...

Do you have any details of either the warranty issues or the actual efficiency?

I got a new (but very dusty box!) GC1000 for a price I couldn't refuse about 4 months ago. I'm only feeding it with about 250watts. In decent sun the monitor reports 91 or so percent (sure, might be AE Percent).

There is no warranty , AE went under over a year ago , Beacon now makes the M5 , but there losing money , I think they had a total of like 300K in sales since the M5 was released ... Beacon won't even repair the AG1000 , at any price

As for efficiency ... Numbers I saw were in the low 80's .... and at 250 watts ... I would think much lower. , no way its running at 91% at 250 watts ...
