We are venturing into deeper waters and doing a gridtied system for my sister. have done a ton of offgrid but this will be my first gridtie system.
y question is what do you recommend for inverters if we stay without batterys? i was leaning towards the new xantrex one?

thanks for the input that was the one i was leaning towards. i have 2 of there off grid sw plusses in my house and i must say i am very happy with xantrex. what is your recomendation for panels it gets pretty cold here in the winter in maine.

Shell panels are fine

yes i know it sucks they want your money to get in line but who knows? is there any end in sight on this drought? makes it awful hard to do these solar systems when you cant get any panels. and i really dispise wiring up all those small ones to get somewhere.

My East and West arrays are Matrix/Photowatt 155 watt panels. Mine are seconds; I bought from Sun Electric in Miami last year for 2.50 watt.

The panels have a chipped cell or two per panel , but all except 2 out of 32 exceed there name-plate rating (they all came with the flash tester data)

For best bang for the buck , Matrix is the best priced panel and seems like you can still get them and I have been very happen with the panels , now running for about 16 months.

There is a seller on eBay that can get new Matrix panels and I'm sure a few internet sellers as well. www.sunelec.com has the seconds still listed ... though I haven't bought product from them since last September

They have been around longer than anyone else to my knowledge (20+ years). There English is bad , they can be hard to get a hold of , but in the end you get the product FAR cheaper than anywhere else

Its a personal decision , I have no complaints , just understand that your going to work a bit more dealing with them for the savings
