1. At night when the inverter is offline the heatsink temp will show as 32F regardless of outside temp. Is this normal?
(From the Software developer of the GT3.0:)
Only a small portion of the electronics is powered at night (to minimize tare losses) from the AC grid. The area that powers the temperature sensor and runs all the other signal conditioning is powered off the array only, so at night it is unpowered, which causes signals to be floating. The CPU can detect this, so when the electronics are unpowered, we force all analog measurements to zero since what we are measuring is meaningless. A zero reading on the temperature sensor corresponds to zero degrees Celsius, which is why he sees 32degF. He will also notice that the AC voltage is zero volts.

2. Out of three inverters I have one that is optimistic about efficiency. Such as 99% eff at 200W. Should I contact Xantrex or ignore it?
The first batch of GT3.0's had some calabration issues , it doesn't effect the actual delivered power , just reporting as you see. It's really up to you if you want to swap out the inverter but I'm sure Xantrex will do the swap if that's what you wish
