Hi all;
I am new to solar systems but am anxious to set up a system. Rather than try to buy parts and pieces from different suppliers I am looking at a system package. Please let me know if I have spent too much time in the sun.
The system is Sunwize 6.84 kw
1) 36 sanyo 190 watt panels
2) Sunwize power center
3)SMA Sunny Boy 6000U Inverter
4) assorted hardware but not the wire for hookup to grid.
They are asking $44,000 for system I live in Delaware and the state will rebate $22,000.
Is this a bad deal or OK??

Figure 4.40/watt for the panels = (190 * 36) * 4.4 = 30K

FOr 6.8kw , you need need two GT3.8's , a SB600U is to small!. Figure 6K for the pair of inverters

Add 4K for racking/wiring/disconnects and your at almost 40K .

That only leaves 4K for labor profit ... so yes I would say good deal

yes that deal is on par with being good, but factoring into it you'll get $22,000 back i'd say that's a great deal.

The price on the Sanyo panels has been going up, the 190's are more than $900 now (if you can find them). So that's at least $32,400 for the panels (plus shipping). An SB6000U is about $3800. DC disonnect can be purchased on eBay for under $100. So that's a total of $36,300 not including the wire, mount, etc.

The Sanyo panels are more expensive than other brands on a per watt (PTC) basis but they do have the advantage of higher efficiency which results in smaller size for the same total output. Buying the kit from Sunwize guarantees that you will get the panels. The Sanyo's are hard to get by themselves. The rebate in your state is very good, much better than the $2.80/watt we get in California.

The previous post implied that the Sunwize price of $44K includes labor. I don't think this is the case!
