WOW

I work on a shoe string budget so everything I have is used or not certified, except my grid tie interface. I started my system up May 2005 with a new but old stock ST1500, works good, but the amp draw from the panels constantly swings the amp meter, always fishing for best MPP.

After reading this form for a while and magazine articles I have been watering to own a STXR2500UPG, hot dang I found a used one on Ebay 3 weeks ago from a, what appeared was a beta site, it has no serial number. I installed it 3 days ago, only took 30 minutes to swap out. The amp meter barely flutters, it's beautiful.

On the ST the best output per day has been 4.6KWH, the STXR beat that already and made 5.1KWH.

You got one of Richards Units and Yes, that was from the beta testing we did late 2002

As long as it keeps working ( and as far as I know 9 of 10 units still are ) your in good shape, but when it fails someday, there will be no where to have it repaired

Enjoy

I hope for the best too on longevity.

A lot of times those beta units (personal work experience) are hand assembled and are very reliable.

From what I understand Xantrex does not service these any more any way. I do not know about sencondary market repair shops, and hope I never need to, but if you know of some, please post and I will write in the book.

Solar Guppy,

I asked about wind power buffered thru batteries to feed a STXR2500 and you adimently said NO. Look at this:

http://wind.dynalias.com/WIND/WBS.pdf

I do not know if it is legitabmate but it seems to indicate someone may be doing the generator/battery thing already. Do you know anything about the noted site?

Thanks
Mark
