Hello
Can anyone give me any clues on a cheaper way to check my home system output whilst on the road.
I have a grid connect 2Kv solar & Sunnyboy SB2500 running Sunny data via a laptop connected to internet with a wireless modem, SMA have quoted me equivilent to $1376 US to buy a Sunny WebBox to use with their Sunny Portal ( which is free ) when at a remote location.
Thanks - Leigh

Simplist way is to have a ftp program upload the actual.txt file to your web-site/page. Then just look at the text page.

http://livesolar.net/index.htm ... if you want to know more use the contact link on his web-site

I think one can download the software from here, if not, its a good starting point

http://livesolar.net looks pretty interesting, I wonder what it would take to interface GT view into it too, and showcase more installs ??

Its pretty, but all that is going on in the backgound is lots of scripts using Excel and FTP clients working off a single file called actual.txt that sunny data makes.

One could make a simple .csh script to "tail" the GT-View log file, pipe it into a file with the same name and then run all that stuff in the package you can download.

The creator is a really nice guy , but he doesn't know anything about programming, so he uses many off the shelf tools/programs to create a look he wanted. He has since moved from CA to WA and no longer has a Solar System and hence, no longer active with what he created.

If one goes to the SMA website and look at their forum, I beleive others, using again Unix/linux stuff have "solutions".
