Just a quick question regarding Xantrex swplus inverters (4048) and hookup to generators. A friend is hooking up a system and was told they needed something to "fix" the output from the generator. The sw won't accept the generator output, and it worked on my SW4048 when i tested it.

Is what they need just an autoformer transformer to bump 240 to 120? Does the swplus require a lot of extras because features were stripped out of the older designs?

Any input welcome.

Turns out the inverter's quiet time ran from 00:00 to 23:59. With only 1 minute to accept charging, that being at midnight, not much charging would get done. Parameters changed, problem solved. Must remind friends of the value of OWNERS MANUAL!

I like simple solutions to simple problems. Sometimes very complex and intricate solutions solve simple problems too, but seldom do i find simple solutions for complex intricate problems. RE related problems don't respond well to the old B.F. hammer application...like car repairs and rough carpentry.
