 Post subject: SMA: Lightning arrestors

I want to install a Delta LA302DC lightning arrestor on the DC disconnect switch next to my SB 1800 inverter rather than on the inverter itself. If a surge occurs I don't want it in the inverter if possible. However I was wondering whether this would in anyway interfere with the proper operation of the ground fault detector in the inverter. Can anyone comment?
Also plan on installing a LA602 arrestor on the AC disconnect switch as well.
