fred,
sorry to hear it was problematic for you again. i've seen mine creep up only upon occasion, but it slides back down later on and not consistantly high like before. was that transformer a pole mounted type? they told me the voltage problem here went all of the way back to the substation and also said that some capacitors were inline that shouldn't have been.

No, it was the big square ground box unit, I will take a picture and post it later, they had to open the box and pull the cables from the unit, the cables looked like big plugs that went into either of 5 poles. Each pole was a different voltage, there is a Primary and Secondary wind.

The box was then lifted off the ground with a small crane and they also lifted off the ground the old concrete slab that went around the box. The slab was replaced with a new one and a brand new box.

They were very happy to work with me which was nice and I pretty much gave them an education about Solar. Once the connects were hooked up they told me to go and fire the system up.

I read 253 on one inverter and 259 volts on the other so I went back and told them it was even higher. They unplug the cable and turned a knob to the "A" Setting and replugged the cable. We got 240 Volts.

Now I can replace my light bulbs around the house and they should last alot longer.

Found a picture, its a Padmount Transformer:

This is what the older box looked like:
