I'm going to give this a try - I'll assume it will work with the larger MS Tristar MPPT charge controllers ? I'll be using an Edgeport 8 USB to serial converter with XP.

Do I need to run it 24/7, or can it pull the log file out of RAM once a week ?

The TSMPPT has a different register set than the SunSaver Mppt, so it won't work with your charger
