Replaced my laptop and I am once again online. The East Panel inverter which is the second one below was replaced due to a fried Bos Switch. This is an updated inverter and is posting better Eff. Ratings.

I would like to get the older Xantrex 3.8 replaced but I guess I will have to wait until the Bos Switch burns out on it.

The newer inverter has a longer Heat sink and as you can see much better Eff Rating, still not as good as yours but its nice to see it in the 95.5 range.

Some basics in the the way the inverters work, mine runs in the 300V range, and yours are in the 400V neighborhood. At higher voltages, the inverters become less efficient, and I have no idea how precise their calibration from the factory is. the difference from 94 to 96 is not enough to worry about.

But, anyway, it's not *mine* any more, it's some software jerk, who thinks he'll save money by using an electric clothes dryer now that he has free electricity. "And my girlfriend does not like the fan in the garage, so take it away." So I'm just sitting back watching the show at 145F. I know something is flakey already - the Peak Watts does not remember the peak very well and usually resets / drifts back down, I don't know if it's the laptop rebooting on it's own, or inverter overriding the software with bogus commands.

Peak watts is a function of SG/GT view, if its changing, the laptop is rebooting, probably due to the heat

Very sad Mike your no longer a solar owner, even worse the new family is ignorant of what they have or how to maintain it.
