I am going to be off the grid. With a large solar array with Air conditioning.

Obviously it will be an expensive system. But trying to maximize performance to dollar ratio.

DO the sw plus perform similar to the xw line???

Major differences? I can not find much documentation on the sw plus.
Low efficiency, limiting capability?

Anyway right now planning my system with xw line, but if It turns out sw plus could work for me, I may switch and add a solar panel for the difference in price.

SW has been discontinued ... they are also 120V systems, not 120/240 like the XW's. Price wise, XW's are lower costs so even if you did have a choice, XW's are the better deal

thanks as I saw that sun elec had a deal on them. FOr one day the 5.5kw was listed at $1700. A bit of a discount to the xw system.

although prices now are $2200.

Just for curiousity. Can you can 2 sw's to provide 240 just each one supply one line. Can not remember to much from school about AC.

SW can be stacked for 240V, in many ways the XW's are much better units and for a new system you want a in production inverter as support for the SW's will be hard to come by as the years go on

i will have to concur with SG. i have the sw 4048's in a stacked configuration, but just after i bought them they started to market the xw system. they really are the way to go if your going to go with xantrex battery based system ,they just have more functionality than the sw
